bands wearing vintage t-shirts from maine

it's weird, but i've found two different bands sporting t-shirts from maine. the first is cut copy, and i know it's a maine t-shirt because i used to have the exact same thing way back when. the second is el guincho. now, just how to international bands - the former being from australia and the latter spain - snagged these is beyond me. has anyone else ever spotted this phenomena?

cut copy - far away remixes

it's no secret that cut copy make cosmic dance music. their latest effort, in ghost colours, was produced by dfa's tim goldsworthy and has now been given spaced-out treatment by the likes of hercules and love affair, aeroplane and the golden filter. head on over to rcrdlbl to listen to the h&la and golden filter remixes.

the tammys

were a girl group who really only surfaced with one hit "egyptian shumba" which featured the three women yelling and shrieking in a very un-girl group manner. but, the song is all the better of it, and it's a sad fact that this single never made any waves when it came out in the early '60s. you can listen to it here, as it's kinda hard to come by.
